Girls in Computer Science: ProjectCSGIRLS

For girls in grades 6-8, Beginner to Advanced Levels

Thursday, February 23 & Monday, March 20

7-8 p.m.

Do you want to try something new and fun using computer science and technology to solve global issues? We’re inviting girls in grades 6-8 of all skill levels to design a project for the ProjectCSGIRLS competition, which strives to close the gender gap in computer science. Sofiya Lysenko, a 2016 national winner, will help guide girls through their projects at two workshops. Learn more about the competition at projectcsgirls.com. Final projects will be due April 15.

Step 1: Individuals & teams up to 3 must register first at the ProjectCSGIRLS website before March 1st at www.projectcsgirls.com/register.

SAT Free Practice Exam

Administered by The Princeton Review

@ 10am-2pm 

This test is being proctored like an actual test except your score won’t go on record. Students will be emailed their score report within five business days and will receive a score report consultation from The Princeton Review to better understand their results.

On the exam day, arrive by 9:45am. 
Bring two sharpened #2 pencils and a calculator.

Volunteer Hands RaisedJOIN AB-TAB

Would you like to volunteer at the library? The Teen Advisory Board (AB-TAB) is a group of teens who participate in and influence the functioning of the library, especially for teen programming and library materials. AB-TAB is a forum to have your opinions and suggestions heard, expand your leadership skills, and earn volunteer service hours. Getting involved in AB-TAB looks great on college applications and job resumes. Service hours are awarded. Apply online here.
