For the health and safety of our community and staff, and as directed by the PA Department of Education Office of Commonwealth Libraries, the Abington Township Public Libraries are closed until further notice.

What is the most recent news from the library?

Updates are here: http://www.abingtonfreelibrary.org/coronavirus-information If you don't find  what you need on our information page or in these questions, email askabington@gmail.com.

I have materials currently checked out, what do I do?

Don’t worry! Items will not be due until at least one week after the library reopens. Overdue fines will not be applied during this time. Continue to enjoy the materials you have checked out until we are open. Keep all borrowed materials, and return them when the library re-opens.

I have books to donate.

Thank you for offering. Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations during this time.

Can I renew an expired library card during the closure?

We are updating cards that expired this year. If you previously received an “expired card” error while trying to access your library account or e-resources, please try again. If you are still having trouble, please email your name and library card number to askabington@gmail.org

Can I place an item on hold?

Place your hold and wait to be notified that your item(s) are ready for you. After receiving notification, then schedule a curbside pick-up time from this page:  http://www.abingtonfreelibrary.org/curbside-pick

Book Bundles - Do you need books for your children and don't know what to pick? Let the library create a set based on their favorite subjects.

I don’t have a card. Can I use the Library's online material?

Yes! You have two choices.

To use all the online resources, Abington and Rockledge residents can request a card here. You will be sent a library card number to use until the libraries reopen. Later, visit the Abington or Roslyn Library for your real card.

If you want OverDrive ebooks and audiobooks  immediately, sign up for an Instant Digital Card that gives access to OverDrive only, using your cell phone number. This digital card will give you immediate access to those ebooks and audiobooks.

To sign up, go to https://montcolibs.overdrive.com/ or the OverDrive app, and choose “Sign up for an instant digital card.” Or select “Sign in,” then follow the directions to get a free card instantly that will work for OverDrive but not  our other resources.

Can I get on Ancestry from home while the library is closed?

Yes! Use your library card to research your past from home through July 31, 2020! The ProQuest Company is generously allowing our library cardholders temporary in-home access to the Ancestry Library Edition database.
